The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is pleased to announce the release of a Request for Applications (RFA) – Grants for Nonpoint Source Pollution Control Projects Watershed-based Plan Implementation. DEP is inviting applications for projects to help communities implement nine-element watershed-based plans to restore NPS-impaired water bodies or protect waters threatened by NPS pollution. DEP anticipates that $1,000,000 of Section 319 Federal Clean Water Act funds will be available.  DEP expects to award 9 to 12 NPS grants with individual awards ranging from approximately $50,000 to $150,000.

All communication, including questions, regarding this RFA must be submitted through email to wendy.garland@maine.gov<mailto:wendy.garland@maine.gov>. Please include “RFA# 202003056” in the subject line of your email. Each year, submitted questions are due by 11:59 p.m. on the 1st Monday in May (May 4th in 2020). Application evaluations will be held on an annual basis. Application submission deadlines will be 11:59 p.m. on the 3rd Friday in May (May 15th in 2020) while the RFA is active.
